Listed below are some resources (okay not all of them are free, but relatively cheap) that we find helpful and useful in building a business and finding peace & balance. Links to the site or book is included in the title.
Wall Street Journal
The newspaper that will tell you the state and trends of the economy, where it is headed and why. It’s incredibly useful to know this information to make strategic business decisions and to learn how to communicate with my customers from their perspective.
Harvard Business Review
This is a great resource to understand trends, to put weight and credibility behind business and leadership strategies.
TED Talks
It’s amazing that more people don’t know of TED Talks. The ideas and inspiration behind these “talks” are invaluable. Everybody has a voice, everyone’s ideas are valuable. One has to have the courage to put their energy behind it, this site gives that motivation and inspiration. A favorite’s is Sarah Kay’s “If I should have a daughter” talk on I can, I will and I will do my best.
Language and the Pursuit of Happiness by Chalmers Brothers
This book is great for understanding the value and meaning of words. In everything we do we are communicating. Don’t you want to understand how to deliver your intended messages better, personally or professionally?
Confidence Finding It and Living It by Barbara De Angelis, PhD
Many people ask me where and how Ashleigh got the confidence that she has. This book is great tool for understanding it and living it. Just as the title says!
The Success Principles: How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be by Jack Canfield
The first principle is “You are 100% Responsible for Your Life”. My reading that excited me and angered me all at the same time. This inspired action in me, as did other principles.
